Mar 29, 2019nbsp018332Probably, but youd want to set it to the finest grind setting. However, you dont want to waste an expensive Burr grinder on grinding spices, then getting weird flavors in everything those things arent easy to clean. Id highly recommend the Krups F203 blade grinder for spices, 15.99 on Amazon to give you an idea on price.
It does a great job of getting the coffee grinds right for my taste. I tried several settings they all work very well for different types of coffee makers. There is some coffee dust when its on expresso setting. Its just slightly a bit noisier than i would like. The great job it does outweighs that. You cant beat it for the price.
The grinder arrived on time and packaged securely. I39ve been using it for about 3 weeks, and I have to say it is the best coffee grinder I39ve ever had. The ground coffee is of uniform consistency, and makes a great pot of coffee. When grinding, it makes a sound just like the professional level machines in coffee shops. I have found no negatives with this grinder.
I39ve had this coffee bean grinder for a couple of years and it39s still working great. Gives a very consistant quantity of coffee, if I remember to keep beans in the hopper. With the hopper in the rear it39s easy to forget if its full.
I have had several coffee grinders over the years and this makes the best coffee grounds by far. It has grind settings on the left side of the grinder and I set mine on 6 for the perfect grind for my drip coffee maker. The grind is fine and perfect for great coffee. The coffee is so smooth and rich. Honestly, I have never had better coffee. The front dial is to grind the amount of beans cups of coffee that you want ground. I just keep mine on 12 and stop it when done by pressing the black circle inside the dial. It is very attractive on the counter too.
For those reviewers in past replies who had a problem with this grinder - I understand what happened. When I myself first used it, I inserted the 39removable upper burr39 amp turned it CLOCKWISE which is the wrong way. Once you lock it in correctly by turning it COUNTER clockwise. - Then will you get that espresso grind just like powder you were looking for. Same goes for your 39french press39 grind A great buy steal for only 29 here at Walmart.
Works great Longer cord which is nice for those that need it It is quieter than the other grinder we had One issue tho Set the amount number on half of the grounds you need per pot For example for full pot of 12 cups set the dial on 6 Give it a try first.
I just bought this yesterday and I39m glad I didn39t pay anywhere near the retail price for it. The biggest issue for me is the coarseness range. When I read that it had 9 settings with 5 smaller adjustments, I thought I would have lots of grinding options. 1 is a very fine powder - probably for espresso - and 9 is a medium fine setting - for drip coffee makers. It39s not useable for a French press or poor over coffee maker. I bought it to use with a Chemex.
I can39t speak to the durability as I am not going to use it again. However, it feels cheap. I didn39t think it was but it definitely is not a luxury coffee grinder as some have said in their reviews.
Don39t be fooled by this being a burr grinder. Unfortunately it uses disc burrs instead of conical burrs. That makes a big difference in consistency and quality of grind. Sure this is a better choice than a blade grinder. However, if you care enough about your coffee to grind it yourself you would be much better off spending a little more on a conical burr grinder. Or, you can get a manual conical burr grinder, save yourself some money, and get a better grind at the same time. No 34Professional34 grinder uses discs.
This burr grinder performed extremely poorly for a Krups product. The coffee hopper lid bobbed up and down while grinding and the grounds were all course, at every setting. I39ve had previous Krups regular coffee grinders and all performed very well. I dont think I39ll buy Krups again especially if quality control is so abysmal. I had a Black amp Decker burr grinder that performed fairly well, but it broke down recently. I think I39ll try Cuisinart now. I39ve never had problems with their products.
Choosing the best burr grinder means considering factors that include your budget, desired features and the type of grinder. Maybe you8217re just starting out in the world of coffee grinders and are looking for the right option at the moment, or you8217re ready to ditch your entry-level grinder for a better one.
A burrgrinder is outfitted with plates, which are either flat or conical. One plate moves to grind up the beans while the other remains stationary. The result is enhanced flavor and an even grind, whether you prefer a coarse or fine grind. If your budget allows, opt for a low-speed grinder. The advantage of a lower speed grinder is consistent results and reduced static cling. Additionally, low-speed grinders tend to be less prone to clogs.High-speed grinding often generates a fair amount of heat and can contribute to static cling.
Just as the type of grinder matters, so do the blade materials. Most burrs are either ceramic or steel. The advantage of ceramic blades is that they take longer to heat up and cool down, which often translates to a longer lifespan. However, steel blades are a bit more durable. They8217re also typically the more affordable option.
If you drink everything from French press to espresso, it8217s a good idea to consider a grinder with a variety of settings to accommodate your needs. Other factors to think about are the hopper size and dosing options. You8217ll typically find larger hoppers and dosing options on pricier, commercial-grade burr grinders. Read on to find the best burr grinder for your budget and needs.
